Storyteller, copywriter, professor, and author who moves minds and bottom lines in Fort Worth.

Hey, it’s me.

People are emotionally-driven creatures. The best stories merge data with emotion to create a narrative that changes behaviors for good. Whether that’s raising money for a nonprofit, increasing ROI for a start-up, or getting more students to join a team, we all need a story to believe.

I’m an award-winning journalist, storyteller, and university professor with 20 years of experience reporting on the key social and cultural issues of our time including love, dating, loneliness, mental health, and relationships.

I started as a newspaper reporter in the small town of Cleburne, Texas and went on to work as a fancy copywriter for advertising agencies across Dallas and Fort Worth. I got to developed stories and conceptual strategies for brands like Dairy Queen, JCPenney, RadioShack, Pizza Hut, Honda, Great American Cookie Factory, Rent-A-Center, and Frito-Lay. But at the end of the day, I really love telling true stories filled with Texas’ most fantastic characters for publications like Texas Monthly, Texas Observer, and Fort Worth Magazine.

As a college professor at Texas Christian University in the Department of Strategic Communication, I teach feature writing, creative strategy, and serve as faculty director and CEO of Roxo, TCU’s student-driven advertising and public relations agency.

I talk about brand storytelling, writing, how to lead and inspire Gen Z employees, and the power of merging data with emotion to move minds and bottom lines.
